Data and storage

The images, videos and text you import, as well as the access log, are stored only on your own iPhone, encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a separate key for each file.

Neither the vault nor the backups inside the app are included in iCloud or computer device backups. Only encrypted backup files that you create yourself are copied to a computer or another location, and only when you choose to do so.

Secret Hider has no master password or back door, and the developer cannot access, decrypt or recover your data for you. Keep your passwords and encrypted backups safe.

What permissions are used for

Photos

Used to import from your photo library. Originals are deleted only if “Delete Originals from Photos After Import” is turned on, and iOS asks you to confirm.

Camera

Used only after you turn on “Photo on Unlock” yourself, to take a photo with the front camera when the app is unlocked. These photos are encrypted and stored only on your device.

Face ID / Touch ID

An optional way to unlock, verified by iOS. The app never receives your biometric data.

Local Network

Used only when “Wireless Transfer” is turned on, to exchange encrypted backups with your computer over the same Wi-Fi network, without going through any internet server.

Purchases

Purchases and restoring purchases are handled by Apple’s App Store, and these actions may require connecting to Apple services. The developer has no access to your payment method or your Apple Account sign-in credentials. Apple’s handling of this information is governed by its privacy policy.

This website

The statements in this policy about on-device encryption and not collecting app content apply to the Secret Hider app. This website provides product information, support and privacy information, and does not read your app’s vault.

This website contains no ads or third-party analytics scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare; when you visit a page, Cloudflare processes the request information needed to serve the website, such as your IP address and technical logs, in accordance with its privacy policy. Each language version of the site has its own URL, and switching languages or browsing pages on the site does not use cookies or local storage.

If the way data is handled changes, we will update the policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
